A Rare Sloane Sighting ...

WHEN: SUNDAY, APRIL 27, 2014

WHERE: THE PROVIDENCE MARRIOTT HOTEL

THE PROVIDENCE JOURNAL FLAGS THE EVENT:

Jazzwoman Carol Sloane Sings Sunday at the Providence Marriott

Head out to the Providence Marriott, 1 Orms St., Sunday, April 27th at 4 p.m. for some great music -- and a little dancing too.

Carol Sloane, a Rhode Island native who began as a big band singer with the Larry Elgart Orchestra and went on to perform with jazz great Oscar Peterson among many others, is the featured performer. She’ll be backed by pianist Mike Renzi, drummer Artie Cabral, Gray Sargent on guitar and Marshall Wood on bass. These men are members of the Quartet that plays for Tony Bennett. It happens that TB is between engagements, the musicians are ALL New England-based, and we are looking forward to a kind of reunion. The afternoon should be a lot of fun.

Tickets, $20 with a cash bar, food and other refreshments available, may be purchased at the door or by calling (401) 728-7707 or (401) 724-2720. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

It has been quite a few years since my husband and I have had the pleasure of hearing you sing live. We will be there!
